RANGOTSAV –2006

It brings us great pleasure to announce a one day seminar arranged by The Dept. of Surface Coating Technology, U.I.C.T Mumbai in association with IIChE-MRC, Student Chapter on 7^th October, 2006 at UICT. The first time, it was RANGOTSAV 2005. Mr. Venkataramanan (President , L & T India Ltd.) was the Chief Guest and Mr. Jalaj A. Dani (President, International Business Unit, Asian Paints) was the Guest of Honor . The function was attended by several office bearers and members from IPA , ISSPA , PACT , The Colour Society , IIChE , etc . With the enthusiastic contribution of the Coatings and the Associated industries , the event made a long lasting impact on all those who attended. And now, it is the second time that a National Level Paper & Poster Presentation Competition cum Symposium has been organized exclusively for Surface Coating Technology Students .

Like last year , we expect to receive several papers and posters from participants all over India .The submissions with State-of-the-Art contents with excellent presentation in their effort will get the opportunity of presentation in the Conference . The competition will be judged by experts in the Surface Coating Technology field and the participants with in-depth knowledge and imaginative ideas for Innovations in Paints Technology will be chosen for Poster Presentation . The theme of the Paper & Poster Presentation is “ Innovative Developments in Surface Coating Technology ”. Following are the topics for the Paper Presentation:-

• Natural Products in Coating Technologists.
• Water – based air drying glass paints.
• Functional coating ( like scratch resistant coating, biodegradable coating, etc.)
• Emulsion based printing inks- problems and prospects.
• UV & radiation curable powder coating.
• Initiatives for Isocyanate free urethane coatings.
• Functional monomers and reactive diluents for coatings.

Registration and Participation: A nominal registration fee of Rs.150 for students and Rs.300 for those who are employed has been fixed to encourage participation. The registration fees cover registration material , breakfast, lunch and high tea. Last date for registration is 23^rd September 2006. Delegates can register online through e-mail or postal communication mentioning name, affiliation and qualifications. No payment is required for registration. It would be collected in cash at the time of the event . Arrangements for the stay of out-station Students ( Ladies and Gents in separate hostels ) will be made in UICT Hostels on first come first serve basis at nominal charges .

Eligibility: Persons having graduated after May2002 are eligible for participation
